Portland International Airport (PDX) is just on the south side of the Columbia River, only 5 -10 minutes from most areas of SW Clark County.

Washington State University-Vancouver. Just 10 to 15 minutes further into Portland is
Portland State University and
Marylhurst University.
The closest ski resorts are based on Mt. Hood and include
Mountain Meadows,
Timberline and
Ski Bowl, each about 45 minutes from Portland.
Some wonderful
camping sites and
boating experiences just minutes from downtown Battle Ground include
Battle Ground Lake,
Lake Merwin, Yale Lake and Swift Lake.
Fishermen will find Washington State and Clark County a pradise.
Gorge
windsurfing is world class stuff.
